Candace Butler, the driving force behind Got Your Six Ranch (GYSR), brings a unique blend of unwavering dedication, genuine empathy, and a fierce commitment to our mission of supporting active-duty Soldiers, veterans, first responders, and their families. Her story is a testament to the power of one person’s passion to make a difference.
A Lifelong Commitment:
With 9 and a half years of active-duty service, Candace’s journey in service began with her enlistment into the Army at the age of 17. She continued her service by dedicating herself to the North Carolina Army National Guard (NCNG) as an Active Guard Reserve (AGR) Soldier, where she currently serves. Her unwavering commitment to protecting and serving our nation speaks to the core of her character.
Strength in Adversity:
At 38 years old, and as a single mother of three remarkable boys, Candace knows the value of family, resilience, and strength in the face of challenges. Her own experiences have created a profound connection to the individuals and families GYSR serves, making her a true guiding light for those navigating difficult times.
Education for Empowerment:
Candace holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice through the University of Mount Olive, and she’s currently pursuing her master’s degree in social work (MSW) at Liberty University. Her commitment to education is driven by her desire to bring the best support and resources to the heroes and families GYSR serves.
A Passion-Driven Leader:
While Candace’s life is deeply intertwined with GYSR, her passions extend beyond her nonprofit work. Whether she’s on the rugby field, lifting weights, hiking through the wilderness, exploring new destinations, riding horses, or simply cherishing quality moments with her loved ones, she embodies the essence of a balanced and strong individual.
